A small Crozy Group cultivar; green foliage, oval shaped, branching habit; triangular stems, coloured green; panicles of flowers are open, gold heavily spotted with red, staminodes are medium size, edges irregular, petals yellow, fully self-cleaning; fertile both ways, not self-pollinating or true to type, capsules globose; rhizomes are thick, up to 3 cm in diameter, coloured white; tillering is average.
Appeared first in US catalogues in the 1990's. It is obvious that this is yet another renaming marketing exercise of an existing cultivar, as is C. 'Lucifer'. As yet I haven't had an opportunity to evaluate which cultivars disappeared when this name was introduced, but when time is available then I will, unless somebody else does it before me!
