Describe Cannas: Plant shape

The overall shape of Cannas varies considerably, from the upright habit of the aquatic species and cultivars, to the drooping foliage of Canna 'Russian Lance'. The terms we have used at Claines Canna to describe our collection are:
  • Upright - erect in carriage or posture.

  • Branching - to stretch out in a semi-perpendicular manner, approximately 45 degree angle.

  • Spreading - to stretch out in a horizontal manner.
  • Arching - to form an arch.
    <
  • Drooping - to hang or incline downward.
