At last, the Claines Canna collection is all outside and enjoying the sunshine while it lasts. I have been able to relax a little in the sun with an ice-cream, as the picture shows. The scorching summer weather of the past few days is about to end in a spell of cooler temperatures and showers, according to the Met Office.By the end of the week, temperatures could have dropped 10 degrees - from yesterday's Mediterranean 27C (81F) to a far more British 17C (30F) .
All that is left to do is to get the leaky-hose watering system laid out again and connected to the water supply, and I can start relaxing again, even if the temperatures are not too good. At the moment it is taking over an hour each day to water the collection by hand.
